Being a chef’s wife is not all it’s cracked up to be…. it’s better! Take a risk, come home with me and join me on this crazy ride!

When first deciding to start this blog I began perusing the internet to see who else was out there with the same life I have.  What I found were many more support group blogs for chef’s wives than how great it is to be married to one.  Where they saw bad I saw good.  When they were lonely I was like “YES” me time.  They complained about the mess in the kitchen, I was ecstatic I did not have to cook. Your food always tastes good. Guests never complain.  And, he’s much cheaper than a restaurant!

I get asked many questions once people find out that my husband is a chef, most are the same, but the most frequent is “Are you nervous he is not going to like it?”.  If anyone knew the actual frequency that I cook  they wouldn’t be asking.  Maybe it is because he is my husband or that you have to be a strong and confident woman to be married to a chef (I like the latter) but the first meal I ever made for him was my all time favourite, KD.  I know, I pulled out all the stops after 8 months but I thought I would show him who is boss.

After we tied the knot it was time to get out of our little (tiny) apartment and into a bigger space.  It was apparently also time for me to start cooking? ( I may or may not have at that time made a promise that with a bigger, nicer kitchen I would start to cook more meals for us).  Technically I am holding up my end of the bargain, it is more than before and does not always come from a box.  To also prove myself I use Facebook and Instagram to prove this to my questioning friends and family members, otherwise I would be hanging out to dry and still being  asked the question “are you cooking yet?”.

Fortunately, the daily grind of life is made a little less miserable and a lot more fun with the company of a chef in tow.  I look forward to bringing you the idiocracy’s and hypocrisies in my life as the chef’s wife.
